I had the good fortune to work with Luke George over the past 12 months where I felt the need to contract a career coach to provide advice and direction for me. The work we did together was primarily focused on planning my next career move, but this involved considerations of personal branding, generation of new opportunities and identification of my career and personal strengths and interests.
Luke supported me in a number of ways, including discussions around expected timelines, identification of suitable new roles, holding me to account on business development for my pipeline of opportunities. I would best describe Luke’s style as one of appreciative inquiry. I found him to be the opposite of overbearing as a coach and he had the emotional intelligence to share a story or two of his tough career transitions. Although some would see that as a weakness, I found comfort in his honesty and this assisted in the building of trust and allowed me to focus on my work in my progression. I would recommend Luke as a career development guide, particularly in one-on-one scenarios.

Thanks Luke, I also feel that our meeting was very productive. I now have some direction and strategies on where we are heading with our marketing in 2020 and beyond. The parent survey that you organised for our school community has really helped us to understand what is important to our parent and guardians within our school, using the survey data will help drive our marketing and improve our customer service to our parents’ needs. Previous to our meeting I had minimal on the job experience in marketing but after our meetings we are now working to implement high-impact marketing strategies, maintaining company social media and website content that will only service the needs of our school community but attract new enrolments in the future.
